funny episode!

kate and ray, i am a new mother of a baby boy. i recommend:
-pain meds if you don't enjoy pain because otherwise you feel every(muthertrucking)thing!

-peepeeteepees until you get the hang of dodging pee. we had a little r.kelly on our hands from the very first night home. (also, warm bath = you will get peed on. throw an extra washcloth over junk right away).

-baby Bjorn. mac loves being in his and i would not get anything done around the house without one.

-boucy seat/vibrating chair.

-good swaddling blankets (the ones we stole from the hospital were not large enough to get a good swaddle going)

-a "boppy" for nursing support

also that beach house album is a great one to rock your little nugget to sleep once he gets here.

Curried Couscous:
  1.5 cups couscous
     1 TBS unsalted butter
  1.5 cups boiling water
  0.25 cup plain yogurt
  0.25 cup good olive oil
     1 TSP white wine vinegar
     1 TSP curry powder
   .25 TSP ground turmeric
1.5 TSP kosher salt (Jew salt)
1 TSP freshly ground black pepper
.5 cup grated (or small diced) carrots
.5 cup minced fresh-flat leaf parsley
    .5 cup dried currants
   .25 cup blanched, sliced almonds
     2 ea scallions, thinly sliced
           (white and green parts)
   .25 cup small-diced red onion

Place couscous in a medium bowl. Melt the butter in the boiling water and pour over the couscous. (we also sautee the red onions and carrots before adding to mix) Melt the butter in the boiling water and pour over the couscous. Cover tightly and allow the couscous to soak for 5 min. Fluff with a fluffer.

Whisk together the yogurt, olive oil, vineger, curry, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Pour over the fluffed coscous and mix well with a fork (or fluffer). Add the carrots, parsley, currants, almonds, scallions, and red onions; mix well and taste for seasonings. Serve at room temperature.
Congratulations Tawny!
The Leine's Classic Amber is also VERY GOOD. And relatively cheap.
Not sure if you've heard it, but The Chieftains have an album titled "Down the Old Plank Road: the Nashville sessions" with that song on it. It's pretty great and combines that bluegrass and Irish folk sound. Very Finneran.
I'm Dutch so I'm glad we can be friends.
I also loved horses and drew them all the time. Dark secret.

OK, I got distracted when this first went up but I finally got back to it this morning (I actually forgot about it but your FB post reminded me). Anyway, it was quite entertaining! I'm glad this reminded me about Will Whitmore. I see he has a new CD, I'm gonna check it out now.

I'm looking forward to hearing more :)

That Aledo show was the first time I saw/met you guys! I remember that show fondly because of all the great bands that played there. But I can see how that would leave a sour taste. However, did you know that they have technically broken up? They've reformed under a different name with some members of another Aledo band, and they are a complete joke now. I was a fan of them before, but this new band is just intolerable.

I remember there being allot more icicles when I was a kid.. Or my mom and dad's garage was perhaps an icicle making machine. I just always remember that. If, and I mean if there are more icicles now then ever, I would defiantly have to subscribe to Corey's jealousy/pissed off icicle theory.

Good show again....

Hey C&T... I really enjoyed episode #2. Keep them coming! And there were always a boatload of icicles around ever since I can remember. You just didn't see many as a kid since there are only three buildings in Cuba for them to hang from. We always broke them off for impromptu sword fights.

An icecicle could totally kill somebody. I'm no physics guy, but by my initial calculations, an icecicle dropped from 20 feet would reach a speed of over 132 miles per hour by the time it reached the ground. If it didn't kill you, though, you'd have ice handy to place on the bump.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It definitely makes us more comfortable knowing that you guys enjoyed it.
It'd be great if you could leave a good review for us on iTunes when we finally get approved. I will let everyone know when that goes through.

Paul -
Nope, that was our first "go" at it. We talked about recording a few shows for practice, but we decided to just run with it.
You should be able to subscribe by clicking on the "RSS Podcast" button on the right. Again, once iTunes approves us, you will be able to click on the iTunes button to subscribe there. If you have a podcatcher, I would assume when you click on "RSS Podcast", it should get things set up for you. If it still doesn't work, let me know.

Thanks for listening, everyone.
